Wildlife observation is possible practically everywhere you go in Costa Rica, and Nuevo Arenal is definitely no exception. CR Paraiso is the perfect place to discover the local fauna. The adventure park is located on an extensive property, full of untouched rainforest, fruit trees, beautiful gardens, and even a pond (frog heaven!). These are great conditions for life to thrive.
Your local guide will lead you through the forest, in an enlightening hike that is suitable for all levels (although it can get muddy). Birdwatching is particularly good in the area, so this tour will be more focused on birds. Some species you may encounter around here are oropendolas, toucans, ornate hawk eagles, wood peckers and much more! That is not to say that you won’t see other kinds of critters, as this area is so full of life. Regardless of what animals you end up seeing during your time here, you will leave knowing a lot more about the Lake Arenal area!

Even on your own, you could walk the trails here and you’d likely spot some interesting creatures. However, when it comes to wildlife observation, nothing really compares to exploring with a guide who knows the area and its species well! They are masters at spotting anything that may be hiding all around us. The wildlife is there, you just need to know where to look.
