After sunset, a whole new world comes to life. The area of Nuevo Arenal is fantastic for wildlife observation, and nights are no exception! Many species are nocturnal, and much more active after dark than during the day. The night tour at the CR Paraiso Adventure Park is a fantastic way of getting to observe wildlife that you would not see otherwise.
The park is located just outside Nuevo Arenal, making it extra convenient if you’re visiting our beautiful area. They are certified by the ICT (Costa Rican Tourism Institute) and have experienced local guides to ensure a safe, exciting and enlightening experience.
You will go out into the jungle with a flashlight, while your guide helps you discover the hidden wonders all around you. You’ll quickly notice that the jungle is louder than you’d think after the sun sets, and life is everywhere. It’s likely that you will run into different species of frogs, snakes, tarantulas, insects and even birds!
This is a relaxed 1 mile walk. Please do keep in mind that some areas may be muddy, especially if it’s been raining. Don’t forget to bring good shoes for this!
Another advantage to this type of tour is that you will generally have the opportunity to get closer (within reason) to the animals than you would during the day. This can give you the chance to take some impressive pictures! Frogs are particularly photogenic.
You should definitely consider booking a night walk while you are visiting the beautiful Lake Arenal area. The rainforest is an incredibly special place at nighttime, and an experience you will not want to miss!
